I wake up and take a peek outside. It's something more of a daily routine I do. Infact, when I look outside, I quickly summarize my day. Wet, muddy, windy. Hmm, looks like perfect weather to bake! So, when I got up from my warm comfy covers, I skipped downstairs and started making pancakes. Yum, yum! I asked my family if they were hungry, which, obviously I knew the answer, just i needed the motivation of creating something spectacular, not only to the tongue but to the tummy as well. Turns out, my pancakes were a little to puffy and made everyone especially full. They said thank you, and said it was very delicious. Who knows if my family ate the pancakes to please me, or because they were truly hungry.
That's always been a question for me. A lie, or the truth? But, would I want to know the truth? Its something that everyone thinks about for hours, and then replays the situation over and over in their heads to pick out clues that could be infered upon. Sure, I could be thinking about if my family actually enjoy my pancake, but why would I try to find a loop when they already said they liked them? When things are over analysed, it could end badly. I mean, sometimes, things are better left unknown. Last night, i was reading Midnight Sun from Stephenie Meyers. It's a string off of her twilight saga, and the novel (well draft, because she hasnt entirely finished midnight sun) is in Edward Cullen's point of view. For many of those who read the saga, you know that Edward Cullen can read minds, for those who do not know that... now you do. Basically, Edward can read everyone's mind (oh joy!). To that fact, I personally would not like to have that ability. I mean, even Edward expresses how annoying it is, but theres no purpose to life if you knew everything. Back to Midnight Sun, a new girl moves into the small city, named Bella, and basically she is the only one whos mind cannot be read. This concludes to Edward loving her (which is ridiculous, because he loves her because he cannot read her mind.....?) mainly due to the fact he wants to know her. Edward is more than 80 years old, a vampire since the Spanish influenza. He constantanly reminds the reader in Midnight Sun how boring his life is, and as soon this girl enters his life, hes completely different.
Basically, the unknown is the point of life.
